Shoot what is most accurate in your rifle. 165gr is enough to kill any whitetail. They are just not that hard to kill.

Accubonds are a great choice, high speed I like them better than some softer bullets. The TSX's shoot awful well for me too, and at mag speed they tend to do well.

I am extremely pleased with the 165 gr Hornady Interbond, as it is very accurate in my rifle, and drops deer and hogs with authority.

Hey 45otto, I'd say it really depends on the Velocity at the Point-of-Impact.

If you are Killing them up close, or through a row of Beans, or through some light Brush with the Game standing very close to the Brush, or inside 300-400yds, then the Nosler Partition will be very difficult to improve upon. It has always woked perfectly for me and some Lots are actually more accurate than Ballistic Tips.

If you are Killing them out a ways, beyond 300-400yds, then I've had excellent performance with regular old Standard Grade Bullets. Used a lot of different kinds and never had a Bullet "Failure" of any kind.

Once you get out beyond 600yds, the Boat Tail Bullets begin flattening Trajectory and retaining Velocity so that it is actually meaningful. For closer shots, the good old Flat Base Bullets work fine.

I discovered at an eary age that the farther out I intended to take shots, the more practice I needed at those distances. There is a lot to be learned when shooting at long distances besides the actual Trajectory.

I do not use Politically Correct Bullets.

Good Hunting and clean 1-shot Kills.

3000 fps + 165 grains X 30 caliber / whitetail = Perfection.

I can't think of a single bullet made today (including commonly used match hollowpoints from Sierra and Berger) that wouldn't work for that purpose. That'll probably start another s**tstorm argument but it won't make it any less true.

300 WM for whitetail, anything you push down the barrel will end them. As I always say find what shoots best in your rifle and use it. I think guys put too much into the idea that you have to match bullits to game(until you get to big animals). I'm confident in saying if you put a 150 or a 200 gr bullit through the deers chest he will not care. However if you make a poor shoot because you using bullits that your rifle doesn't like it will not matter how perfect they are for that hunt it's just a bad scene.

I gotta admit that with the overwhelming majority of Partitions I've purchased; the bullets not only deliver superior terminal perfomance but superb accuracy, too.

.308" 165 gr. Nosler Partitions have worked to perfection over the years for me in .30/06 Sprg., 300 Win. Mag., 300 H&H Mag., 300 Weatherby Mag. & 300 RUM.

#2 would be the 165 gr. Nosler Accubond.

Good Luck.

Not to start anything, but what distance do you plan to shoot from? I just ask because deer size game is generally going to be plenty dead enough pushing 308 bullets at 2750MV inside of 250 yards. I made the mistake of using my elk rifle on deer once (180gr at 3400MV) and at 300 yds hit the deer a little too far forward. Had to throw away one shoulder because it was so bloodshot. Your mileage may vary but too much velocity can be a bad thing. JMHO

You don't have to have tack driving accuracy with a hunting bullet but a NP often delivers it. It also delivers over a wide range of velocities.
