Jon2HS Precision changing their stock painting style?
Dear all
Does anyone know if HS Precision have changed their stock painting technique/style of recent?
I have seen some recent models on Gunsamerica with factory paint jobs which were different (not as attractive) in style to previous models.
I would be interested to hear from any informed parties out there ref my comments above and/or if anyone has noticed the same?
Kind regards

BaxterBI have two of their stocks that definitely have different style finishes. I bought them used so have no idea of their ages though. What in specific are you referring to? Texture, color, pattern?

Jon2If you look at the rifle (6.5x284) in the following link you will see a different finish to the one in the lower link. Both are tri colour desert. One main difference which stands out is that the 6.5 has a very crude/rough looking black web which is glossy.

BaxterBYes. I can see the difference you mean. I have a two color camo stock that is more like the bottom rifle than top, I.e the black web is smoother. I would call HS directly, that thick webbing might be by design/order. They have been very responsive with my questions. Good luck.

BiebsNo matter what the color, they're great-shooting rifles.

LOP is too short on the camo stock. Sell it immediately.

AbbispaI was told by their salesman that all of the stock painting is done by one guy. This was told to me in January of this year. I bet he is a busy dude.

BaxterBFYI: I just received an HS stock in the mail (not directly from HS but a new stock), and the paint job (tan/black spider web) is the "smoother" finish. It is not the glossy type as shown in the first pics above. Good Luck
