boliep220 grain Nosler in 300 Win Mag
I recently got some Nosler Partition that are 220 grain and was going to use them in my 300 Win Mag.
Does anyone have a pet load they will share. If you are getting cloverleaf groups from your rifle it sure would be a good place to start with mine.
I am more interested in accuracy than in velocity.

Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.

AtkinsonI use a book max load of RL-15 and get a tad over 2700 FPS and those round nose bullets, as usual, are tack drivers in the 300 and in the 30-06..
I have used the 220 enough to believe the 200 gr. Nosler is just as good and shoots much flatter..That 200 gr. Nosler or Woodleighs are about the most awesome killers of anything that I have found. They kill deer and Eland with the same degree of thump as far as I can tell..great all around bullet and I would not hesitate to shoot a buffalo or Brown Bear with one..BTW, the 200 will out penetrate the 220, which came as a surprise..but the 220 expands to the size of a quarter or bigger, so it thumps the big stuff.

FC36370grs of IMR7828 produced the best groups I ever shot out of my .300WM with any bullet/powder combo.

phurley5Using a .300 Win Mag I used a 200 gr. Nosler Partition round nose in front of 71 grains of IMR 7828 to take a 9 1/2 ft. Brown bear at Cold Bay Alaska. The load cronographed 2900 fps and performed perfectly with a bang flop kill at 90 yards. I like the 200 grainer because it shoots very flat compared to the heavier bullets. Good shooting.

416RigbyHunterI wasn't using the Partition, but the 220gr Hornady Interlok, in Rem brass and 68gr's of RL22. I believe you may get better results with RL25, but I do not have any load data to share.
Cheers.
