30-06 Anniversary
My '06 Anniversary Special is done.
Starting last year with a Rem 700 ADL I bought in 1962:
Pac-Nor 23" #1 contour barrel, Shilen trigger, Weaver 4X-40 scope & Millet mounts, socket head action screws, and Williams trigger guard all matte blued, and a McMillan fiberglass stock.
It weighs 8 pounds, and with 165 Nosler Partitions over 61 grains of Reloder 22 it makes 2830 fps with MOA accuracy.
Gotta try more loads 'cause this will be my primary hunting rifle.

How about celebrating the 100th by only hunting with your .30-06 for this calender year. I've been thinking about it but I have a safe full of guns that may rebel against me.

New 30-06 on layaway. Kimber Montana/kimpro finish. Will send the stock to Ricasso for an OD/black web paint job. Talley LW mounts and Leupy or swaro AV. Should go 7.75-8# all up loaded magazine, ready to hunt. Long live the 30-06!

I will get one later this year. Haven't decided which rifle though. Leaning towards a M70, but who knows? I sure would love it if I could get an '03 Springfield.

FiSTers... Running is useless.

How about a Garand?

I feel really bad now about making mint 1903 Springfields into sporters in .35 Whelen and one in 257 Roberts and one in .25-06 and one that is between barrels. I really feel bad now!!

Don't do it anymore!!

The year of the .30-06!!
100 years of mostly flawless performance on demand.....Celebrate...buy a new one!!
