Val25-06 Sako or Savage
Planning on buying a 25-06. Both the Sako 75 and the Savage 110 FP come with adjustable triggers. Thoughts on which I should get from those that have either of these.
Thanks

Sask_Hunteri would go with the sako. it is a 10X better rifle than the savage. if $$ is an option i would look at a tikka. the T3 or the older whitetail models.

StonecreekI am a great fan of Sakos, but I think that Sako may have screwed up with their "standard" calibers by cutting the barrels to 22 inches. This just isn't long enough for a .25-06 (or a .270, for that matter). Don't know the barrel length of the Savage.
In all respects, the Sako will be a much more sophisticated and better finished (Finnished?

) rifle, although you probably won't find a huge difference in accuracy between the two.

POPIf $$$ is a concern go with the Savage. With the $$$ you save buy a kick a$$ scope! It will probably shoot at least as wel as the SAKO and most likely a lot better! I love Sakos and I love Savages too! My 110 FP 25-06 did 5/8" groups at 200 yds all the time with various weight bullets!

Mark R DobrenskiPersonally if money were not an object I would first off go with a Tikka T3 (I know that wasn't in there but---well you know sorry). I feel it is the nicest most accurate rifle on the market today.
Next I would go with the Savage--it is incredibly accurate!
Lastly I would take a look at the Sako.
Just my thoughts-have a great week I am heading out on a Mtn Goat hunt today.

sakofanIs this rifle for hunting or just shooting??
Have you considered the Cooper rifle??
About the same money as the Sako, and would be a tremendous bench shooter!!
The barrel length that Stoney commented on would be an issue for bench. Less maybe for hunting..sakofan..No flies on the Savage either. They typically shoot well out of the box. Just not the same craftmanship as the Sako's/Tikka's.

ValThanks for the replies. I'm buying this rifle for hunting. Prime target will be deer with an occasional coyote.
