JarrodPrice check on Sako
What is a Sako Finnbear with the nice woodstock in 338 Win Mag without scope worth?
Very good shape only has a couple little small dings maybe but thats about it

eezridrI bought one like new for $1K including TT&L. It was the older L61 action which is my preference. Very good guns!
Some of the AVIII's go for more. I like the trimmer stocks on the older guns. They are also a bit lighter.
I do not believe you can buy as quality of a new gun for close to the same price.
That price is the reason I bought it. I think a nice one may bring $1,300.00

About $900 for .338 with slight premium for .375H&H. Other smaller caliber offerings can be best described as accurate nicely finished CROWBARS and are worth about $600 if in top shape.

You'll have a hard time finding a better rifle, mho. Anywhere around a grand is about right, depending on condition and such. What's the asking price? Pics?

These are good rifles but I would make an offer
as there are more quality rifles out there then there are willing buyers.

JarrodI have seen the rifle sitting on the shelf for very long time. It had a price tag of 1,299 first time I saw it. The asking price now is quiet a bit cheaper than any of you have said.
As far as models go I know very little about the different Sakos. The wood looks very nice. Did this model have different grades of wood avaliable?
I don't know how to post the link but I would say it looks very similar to item # 178766693 on gunbroker

Dr. LouThey were available with with basically one grade of wood - some pieces better than others. The Deluxe model usually had nicer wood that was lighter in color, skip-line checkering and rosewood tip and grip cap.

JarrodI just got off the phone with the store that has it. They said they have just had it for a while and want to move the inventory. Way he talked like they were going to cut back on their guns and have more other hunting stuff.
It does NOT have the rosewood foreend

Dr. DucThe Garcia guns had plain stocks in my experience. Other importers had better wood. The Garcia guns are usually discounted by collectors but they shoot very well.

mauser93Worth a bit less than a NIB South Carolina M70, IMO.
The 61 actions are probably the best that Sako has offered.
