A 9.3x64 is closer to a 375 then a 338 for power

I'd like to know how you figure that!!! A .338 210 gr Partition at 3050 fps (what my gun shoots) gives 4339 lbs/ft of muzzle energy. A 9.3 286 gr Partition at 2400 fps(high for the caliber) gives 3659 lbs/ft of energy. Not even close!! An almost 700 ft/lbs of energy is very significant, at least in my book. Will the animal notice?? In some cases no, in others yes. It all boils down to shoot what you want to shoot, but at least get your information straight before you claim a 9.3 x 64 is in the same class as a .338 Mag. It's not, and never will be !!

actually a 9.3x64 brenneke is more powerfull than a 338 this info from COTW
286gr sp 76gr imr4350 2725fps 4716 ft/Ibs maybe you were refering to a 9.3x62? the larger round is right up there with the 375 H&H and it fits in a std action it is a great round

Question?
If you shoot an animal through the heart with a 210 gr. NP in 338 at 3050fps or a 286 gr NP at 2100fps will there be any difference? What about if the 286 gr NP was going 3050fps?
