Ranger Arms Inc. Rifles?
a friend of mine has one of these rifles in 300 win mag,its stamped made in gainville texas, can anyone give me info on this rifle, it got 3 locking lugs a fat bolt body is it an early Vore or Kliengunther? thats for looking , jjmp
Two different companies.
Ranger arms made rifles in Texas.
Voere (germany) made rifles under their own name and also made the Kleingunther rifles.
thank s richj, your 1st picture is it....did they put custom barrels on them? were they problem rifles great rifles etc ,anyone with more info? jjmp
I sold both recently (only to fund a custom rifle). They're both very good rifles/designs. The Ranger "Texas Magnum" was very comfortable with it's high rollover stock. I'm not sure who did the barrels.

N E 450 No2If I remember correctly Rangers barrels were from Shilen, also in Texas.
They had a reputation of being good shooters.
Many of them had no checkering on the stock.

Glen71My memory is suspect these days, but I think I recall a potential problem in the trigger design. Seems the trigger is attached to the bottom metal and if the rear action screw gets loose, the trigger sear won't catch the striker. The actions are hell for stong, though.
ne 450#2 and glen71, thank you both 4 chiming in on this one, shilen does indeed make a fine barrel, please keep more info comeing

N E 450 No2They were sort of a forerunner in the short ultra lite sheep rifle concept.
I have seen many of them in 308 WCF and 284 WCF.
