Born to HuntGoing to range tommorrow...need help ASAP
I have a new Savage Model 114 in 300 WSM. I am planning to do a "break-in" procedure...don't know if it will help or not, but I've decided after reading both sides of the debate that it can't hurt.
I have two bore guides and neither of them will fit this rifle. Does anyone know a bore guide that will work? This is my first Savage. I have not had this problem with any of my other .30 cal. rifles including a Rem Model 7 in 300 SAUM.

fredj338Try one of the plastic ones from Midway. If yo are in a hurry, sacrafice a piece of brass by drilling out the primer pocket to fit your cleaning rod.

Critter_KillerBrass without the primer is about the best way to go. Thats what i like anyway.

Born to HuntOK guys, I can do that, but one question...The home-made brass bore guide doesn't keep solvents out of the action right? Or am I missing something?

fredj338No it won't but then again, you are in a hurry right?
