browningguySome of my medium bores
Playing around this weekend I put together a page with a few of my medium bore rifles. With the ones I haven't photographed yet,and my pistols, I have run out of room int he safe. So instead of selling a few I'm building a new gun cabinet to be able to keep some of them in my study.
http://www.houstonarts.com/rifles.htmIt's a big page so be patient if you have a dial up connection.
Happy shooting,

Dago RedGreat!
How do you plan on securing them in the cabinet? I too am out of room in the safe, I still have two rifles that aren't home to be put in there too, so I am about to burst at the seams. I thought about doing a cabinet but was unsure of how to secure them in it.

browningguyRed, all my kids are off to colelge so I don't have that worry. My wife finally relented and we are turning my study into a hunting room, dead animals on the wall and everything, she even picked out the paint we're going to use.
I've had my alarm company put in a second system, pressure pads and motion detectors with a battery backup. It was actually only a couple of hundred dollars, cheaper than a new safe. I've got a guy who is installing some super window film on the outside window and have a deadbolt lock for the door, it will be sort of like a walk-in safe.
Inside the cabinet (which I'm designing myself so no laughing when I post pics this summer)I've put in a place for a locking cable which will run through the trigger guards and then through a cleat in the rear bolted to the wall. I'm also putting in safety glass and a good quality lock on the door.
The combined system might not stop a determined pro, but it should slow everyone else down uite a bit.

browningguyNow Tumbleweed, I can't find the old photos and I have to shoot some more this weekend. I'll try to get it up then. It's not on purpose, when you get old some things just slip by without you even realizing it.

browningguyTumbleweed, I just found three of the old pictures and they are now on the page. An overall shot, a closeup of the action and a closeup of the butt.

fla3006Nice collection, thanks for taking the time to make pics and post.

browningguyThanks fla3006, I was thinking about adding the 416 you had for sale but I'm just a little too tight for a couple of weeks.

Frank MartinezVery nice indeed. I had never thought of military rifles as being potentials for beautification.
I have a Browning Inglis (Canadian) and would love to have the stock setup. Can you tell me where you got yours.
Thanks for sharing.
Frank

AtkinsonNice guns, if you ever want to dump the Ruger 77 RSI, let me know.

browningguyTHanks Ray, the RSI is still my go-to rifle, I know it will shoot just about any 150 gr. bullet into 1-1.25" or so no matter what. I carry it on every hunt even if it's just as a backup.
