My oldest son is something of a gun nut...wonder where he got that...and when he graduated high school back in 1991 I told him I would buy him a good rifle and scope. Off to the gun shows we went He had already decided on the 300 H&H and another cartridge but I can't remember what it was. First gun show we went to there was a brand new Model 70 in 300 H&H. I believe for the only time in my son's life he made his decision right there. Usually it takes him 6 months. He still has it and has taken several deer in a few states. It is scary accurate.

When we were still on the farm and he was home city folks were always dumping their cats out our way. He got pretty good at whacking feral cats at several hundred yards with that rifle. Longest shot I know of was something over 450.

Making a comeback, I didn't know it ever left.
