Bailey Bradshaw.44 mag rifle?
What do you think of a doule rifle chambered for .44 mag as a short range (75 yds or less) deer and hog gun? I know there have been lever guns chambered for it. How is the recoil? Performance on game?
Rifle bbls = more velocity, so you need to pick a bullet that can handle the extra velocity...
I have a 12ga./444 Marlin combo gun that i like very much. I think the 444 would make a better cartridge for a double rifle than the 44 mag.. It has enough "extra" velocity for even bigger game than the 44 mag. will handle, allowing for longer ranges too. I think it would make for a more usefull gun...
In fact i've been thinking of putting one together for myself..

vapodogI have a 44 mag rifle and it's a darn good 100 yard gun....from a double rifle it should be sweet but I agree that the 444 is better as it's the same pressure and a lot more cartridge.
