I only have shooting experience with one Mauser MO3.

I was involved with a Wounded Warrior Program, we were taking several of them to the range for a shoot, near San Antonio.

Tip Burns loaned us his Mauser 08 in 308.
He handed it to me with several boxes of, if I remember correctly, Hornady 155gr ammo.

The rifle was in its take down case. So I opened up the case, and started to put it together...

The barrel goes on to the stock/reciever just like a Blaser R 93, which I am very familar with.

The scope attaches to the reciever a little differently than the R 93 scope mount but it tool only 3 seconds to figute it out.

he said the rifle was zeroed at 100 yards with the Hornady ammo.

Here is where the problem started...

I loaded the rifle and fired the first shot at 100 yards. It was just about perfectly centered in the bullseye.

I thought GREAT!!! tu2

Then I fired 2 more shots. There was still only ONE HOLE IN THE TARGET. shocker Confused Eeker

Then I remembered, homer It is a German Rifle, and the Germans always make good stuff. beer

Yes that is correct, the first 3 rounds I fired through a Mauser 03, put together out of its take down case, cut one ragged, small hole.

The rifle continued to shoot this good all day.

Dang if it did not shoot almost as good as a Blaser R 93... Wink Big Grin

I shot the same rifle as NE 450 and can attest to the accuracy, and I also got to only handle a "tracker" model in 9.3x62. Other than being a bit heavy for my taste, they are great guns.

Yep - push feed.

I like living on the edge and used my M03 Africa on two buff hunts...survived. Cool

I have numerous barrels (308, 300, 9.3, 375, 404 Jeffery) for my two Africa's and scope combos. Each will return to zero upon reassembly when you reach your destination. Dynamite triggers out of the box and they shoot consistently better than I can.

I carry mine in a takedown Starlight case, under the airline surcharge dimensions of 61 total inches (L+W+D) so no question about being oversized luggage when I check in.

A good system with versatility- can't go wrong.
