Assuming you mean the newer "Classic" models of the 90s on? Nice looking rifles, and now that the "Winchester Closes Doors" hysteria is over, the prices have returned to being reasonable. Especially in 270, it's about as classic American as they come.

Yes, the Winchester Super Grade in 270, cost around 1100 or 1200 or so, the new ones.

I have an older model 70 winchester in the super grade, CRF configuration. It is chambered in 300 WSM.
I bought it used from a friend with the scope already mounted somewhere around 2003. He gave me a box of ammo loaded with 150 gr. Sierra spitzers. Since I shot the original 20 and they worked so good. I loaded 20 more. IIRC,I've shot 26 times at deer, hogs and turkey with it. All were DRT. Shoots the 150 gr sierra spitzers under an inch at 100 yds.
Beautiful wood, flawless fit and finish. What's not to like.

I've been lusting after one in .325 WSM.

I own a super grade in a 338WM. Very nice shooting gun (Conn. gun). I was looking at the new version the other day; a 30-06 ($999.00) and I was very surprised at the finish on the stock, very smooth and the bright bluing. The checkering is still machine cut (not like a good hand cut job) but for a production rifle, it is very nice. Spend a extra $150-$200 and have a nice bedding job and float the barrel and it will serve you well. The inset sling swivels are a nice custom touch as well as the shadow line cheekpiece.
