Anyone tried these stocks?
http://www.rifle-stocks.com/oldclassic.htm

I am working on 9.3X64 and am looking for a nice piece of wood. I refuse to use the "California" or any Monte Carlo style. I love the Dakota or Granite Mountain classic style.

I'm working on one as we speak. I got it off the seconds list and it has the oval forearm, which is a bit "California" for me. The round looks much better.

Also, to get it as svelt as the one on the website will take about 10 lbs of coarse sandpaper. They leave plenty of wood all around for shaping.

All that said, it can make a nice looking stock with the right work.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I have gotten 2 stocks from this company and I am sending in a blank for a 3rd stock.

I plan to order this exact stock style.

I think it is a great design.

I have ordered about 15 to 20 stocks thru Boyds... however this has some very interesting combos...

I am looking at ordering a target stock for a Mauser with a 31 inch straight bull barrel on it....

Should be a lot of fun for long long range prairie dogs in Montana next summer....

cheers

Anybody got a real picture of an "old classic"?
