I know that there are two for the 550 action. Timney and American Hunting Rifle

AHR also has a Win 70 type wing saftey. Both are listed under accessiries. You should also check out the packages for upgradding CZ rifles as the triger and saftey are part of their upgrades. Check the blue box "CZ Owners"

Some of my CZ 550 medium actions came with a factory three-position safety, and I have had the rest of them converted from the factory two-position to factory three-position. The part is availabale from CZ USA, and it's merely a drop-in part, although I have always had it done by the gunsmith, who has fitted and polished it so it's quiet and smooth. It's an inexpensive solution. I've had all my CZ rifles bedded as well.

Winchester style three position safeties are available from American Hunting Rifles, and Ed LaPour, for a lot more money, but they are very good safety mechanisms.

KB, is the AHR M70 style bolt safety available for the standard length action 550? That has a shorter firing pin than the magnum.

If yes, that would be my choice. That is a direct lock on the firing pin.

I'm sure the safety is available for the medium action. Call Wayne at AHR. Also, Ed sometimes has his safety in stock.

Thanks for that link to American Hunting Rifles. I wonder though, do people find the standard trigger deficient in some manner? I have been quite pleased with this trigger on my rifles.

What are the deficiencies?

Thanks.

I have 2 CZ 550s and both triggers are fine. They have a little creep, but you always have the set trigger if you need to take a long shot.

I have no intention of messing with mine. In contrast, I have 2 Rugers that both have trigger jobs.
