oldunideal weight?
Gents,
What's the ideal weight for a rifle in 9.3x62?
That's a rifle with scope, but unloaded.
Thanks.

That's a very subjective question as there's a lot of personal preferences out here. That cartridge is nearly as powerful as the .375 H&H and will recoil nearly the same. Weight therefore should be the same.
I like light guns with short barrels. I want my gun/scope combo to weigh under 8 1/2 pounds. many will want a heavier gun.

budicealecz model 550 lux, cz rings, leupold 1x4 scope, old remington factory sling....8.6 lbs on the trusty digital bathroom scale. with 5 rounds of ammo the same scale says exactly 9 lbs. since the recoil isn't bad (IMHO) and i don't want to carry any more weight, i'd say it's the ideal weight for me. hope this helps...bud

9.3 riflemanoldun,
I agree that 8.5 pounds would be about ideal. Mine also weighs in at about 9 pounds fully loaded and the recoil is not that heavy. The stock does fit me very well and this probably has much to do with it.

Paolo9,5x73Twenty percent less than equally equipped .375H&H.

NsiroIMHO, a 9.3x62mm rifle, with scope and 5 rounds of ammo, that weights 8 to 8.5 pounds is about right.
You may want to get a good recoil pad, after I changed to a 1†Pachmayr decelerator on my 7.3 pounds 9.3x62mm rifle, I can shoot a box of ammo in one morning at the range without any discomfort or bruising. Recoil from the 9.3x62mm is not that bad, I can not compare to a .375 H&H because I never fired one.
Hope it helps.
