9.3x66/370 Sako
I guess it is official now. There was an article in the American Hunter magazine about a moose hunt and the 370 Sako Magnum.

The velocities don't reach those advertised, but what does?

It is about 1/2 way between the 9.3x62 and the 9.3x64, no huge surpise there.

I was actually pleased to see the velocities that were measured in cool weather. That should keep pressures safe in hot weather.

I think I'll keep my 9.3x66 barrel and many boxes of Sako 9.3x66 brass. No offense to Federal, but it is Federal brass; well annealed, etc.

In addition to my beloved North Forks, I'll load 250 grain Accubonds and 286 grained Partitions. I suppose it will do for anything here, or on the plains and buff and ele in a pinch with those long for diameter 9.3, 'er .366, 'er 370 bullets.

A bit tight in a standard Mauser box, even after milling here and dremeling there; perfect for modern stamped steel boxes of the 3006/belted short magnum length.

Don't pretend it's a .375 H&H Belted Magnum; in some instances it is less, in others it is more.
