OrvarOutfitter supplied?
Looking at a Dall hunt in 2013 or probably 2014, and was wondering: do Outfitters normally supply tents or client?

if not where your guide will sleep?
so yes they furnish the tent. most of the time they provide a gear and items list that can be useful.
all the best.

Somebody told me the guide had his own and required client to bring another... Just checking with your experiences.

Orvar,
never heard about that in Canada. (doubt in AB, no way in Yukon and NWT, cant comment in BC but again i doubt) you ll share it, especially on sheep. you ll even find some places where the guides has no gun for back up ...
again you ll explode your little allowance on the freight side. maybe there are clients that prefer their own kind of tent but certainly some others will chime in.
do you remember from what outfitter you were told about?

llamapackerGuides should always supply tents, food, dishes, stc. You should only be responsible for your own personal gear, like clothes, sleeping bag, rifle etc.
Of course anything can be agreed to, but if I am going guided I would expect all the camp gear to be present.

OrvarThanks for the comments - seems like that's sorted.
Now, I just need to re-buy all my mountain gear which Sandy took from me...

But, on the bright side, don't need to argue with wife... she's in the same place and already looking at new safari clothes for herself!

AlaskaguideNever heard of an outfitter that required his clients to bring their own tent.
However you may want to invest in a good bivy bag just in case you get caught away from your spike camp for a night.
