larryshoresDaypack
I am heading to Canada in a few weeks to hunt caribou. I will need a day pack. I am not that happy with the few that I have. The most expensive downright sucks.
Any recommendations?
What do you think about the Badlands day packs?
Thanks.

DesertRamLarry, I have a Badlands 2200 that I really like. The only downfall is the lack of smaller pockets/pouches on the belt that allow easy access. I end up taking it off a lot. Of course, their daypacks are built differently and seem to have better access. Badlands are of high quality though - mine's a dang tough pack.
For shorter dayhunts, I rely on a Camelback MULE. It's big enough for water (hydration bladder), food for a day, camera, spare socks, and a few other items. It's big enough to be handy, but small and narrow enough to allow one to sling a rifle and hike a distance with no interference. If you plan on packing out a critter though, you'll want something bigger.

larryshoresThanks.
I have a Badlands now. It isn't the 2200. I used it on desert big horn & ibex. It wasn't bad but not ideal.
Coincidentally, I ordered the 2200 yesterday.

impala#03I recently bought a Eberlestock J34 from a fellow here on AR. It is a nice large daypack, and expands to about double for packing out meat. Seems very well made. The internal frame is adjustable for a custom fit.

loud-n-boomerHi Larry.
I have been using an Osprey Talon 22 for the past three years, including a 10-day self-guided caribou hunt in the Brooks Range. It has worked out great for me, as it comfortably carries a lot of weight for its size, has pockets that are easy to get to, and is very well made.

larryshoresI just got back. The Badlands 2200 is the best day pack I have ever owned.
