Does anyone here have personal knowledge (either done it yourself, or personally witnessed it) of the accuracy of Desert Eagles?

Now, the problem with this gun is that a lot of people buy them for looks, people who really don't know how to shoot and are just going to pop off some rounds.

I'm looking for accuracy by people who know how to shoot... IE, if you shoot 12" groups with a desert eagle at 25 yards, but would shoot 12" with a match tuned Les Baer .45 auto, thats not necessarily an indication that a desert eagle is inaccurate!

I shot a few of them when I worked the local indoor range, accuracy was on par with most good duty auto's, which is to say 2" or less at 25 yards. Didn't seem to matter which model or caliber. I get better accuracy from most of my big bore revolvers, and way better accuracy from my Contender. HTH - Dan
