Joe RichardsonScope Opinion
Just a quick question. I have a dozen or more Leupold rifle scopes but not a pistol scope. Does anyone have any experience with their 2.5-8 VXIII pistol scope? I'll be putting it on either an Encore 7mm-08 or my S&W 460. Thanks.

MississippianI have one on a S&W 500. I only have around 75 rounds down the tube and no problem so far.

BoxheadI have had one (bought used) on an XP-100 7mm BR for a number of years that has been fired many, many times and deer hunted quite a few as well. Performacne has been typical (for me) Leupold. A fine scope.

Paul HIt's one of the few variable handgun scopes that will hold up to serious recoil. Just make sure you have it in a good solid mount with preferably 3 rings. I'd venture to say many handgun scopes fail due to the mounts flexing and thus the scope flexing under recoil than to just the plain recoil pulse.

billinthewildI have had their 2x scope mounted on a Ruger Blackhawk for 15 years plus with not a bit of a problem.

VersifierI have both 2X and 4X models and love them. I have never heard a bad word said about the 2.5-8 VXIII, and have played with my friend's .30 Herrett Contender that wears one. I'm impressed with it. It is up to their usual high standard of quality.
