Redhawk1I have only used it in my BFR in 45-70. Never thought about using it in a 44 mag or other handgun round.

TCLouisIt is interesting that Lyman lists loads for SR4759 in 357 Mag for the 158 and 168 grain boolits, but NO loads for the 44 Mag.
When I inquired about this on another site(after I acquired 12 lbs of SR4759) the consensus of the opinions I received was that it was likely too bulky to get a load with any performance out of the 44 mag case capacity/expansion ratio/boolit weights.

bfrshooterYes, it was designed for reduced velocity loads in larger cases where more powder space could be filled with it's bulk.
It used to be sold in 8 oz cans because 1# would not fit the little tin cans.
However it works like a charm in calibers like the 7BR and 7R, maybe the 7 Waters too.
It would shoot in the .44 but velocity would be very low.
