New FA 83 Premier, which sights?

trdiggerNew FA 83 Premier, which sights?
I just bought a Freedom Arms Premier 83 in 454, 7.5" Bbl. It is in beautiful shape and I got an absolutely screaming deal at $895.00. It has a scope mount on it, so I need to purchase sights. I will shoot a lot of targets to figure out a load, but then it will be for hunting and shooting stumps, etc. I shoot quite a bit, and am used to standard style sights, but am interested in the express sights for field use. Which sights should I go with, express or partridge style? Just looking for opinions, thanks

TemboMan you got a Hell of a deal. As far as sights, I have tried both styles you mentioned on my FA, and my eyes definately prefer the express sights.

jwp475I do not ssights well on a revoler. I much prefer a square rear notch with a ramp or partridge front sight for accuracy

N E 450 No2On a FA I use the Express Sights.
I like them better for hunting.

Me too. I like express sights on my .416, but not on a revolver. But that's just me.

I hunt a lot of timber and brushy country here in Western WA. Do you feel the express sights show up better in less light?

MS HitmanI have always used the premium grade sights on my FA revolvers.
These have worked fine for me, but I think bfrshooter got a set one time with reversed threads and wound hitting things behind him or some such.
If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

trouthunterdjI have always liked the premier sights but I know they do make a fiber optic front sight that you could install when you are going hunting. Might be the best of both worlds to change front sights if needed.

Yes I do, and I think they are faster to pick up, and align as well, especially on moving game.
I started shooting Bullseye handgun competition in 1966, and I like "regular square" handgun sights for precision shooting, but for hunting I prefer the FA express sights.
