The max is one fine caliber. I don't think you will have a problem. I keep kicking myself for trading my Ruger years ago.

THe 357 Max is plenty of gun.

I would go with the 200 gr WLNGC from Cast Performance. From the hunting I have done with these heavy bullets, they will out penetrate any jacketed bullet on the market and this is key on big hogs.

THe Max has plenty of HP to drive these bullets to very good velocities.

I am going on a hog hunt here in March and will be using this same bullet in a 357 Mag in a Ruger Blackhawk loaded to a tick over 1200 fps. I know full well it will fully penetrate any boar I run into.
