Who Said This?
Does anyone know who the author of this quote is?

"At what point in the death of the animal did the bullet fail."

I just can't seem to remember who said it. Slim

Not sure but I think it was the guy that invented the Barnes bullet. Can't think of his name. Seems to me that this quote was in one of the gun rags recently.

I don't think it was him. I think it was either Townsend or Whelen but I just ain't sure. Slim

I'm not sure either, but it might have been Winston or Churchill.

As I recall, in an article by Jon Sundra (years ago), he attributed the comment to the late Joyce Hornady. Sundra had whacked some african critter with a Hornady bullet that came apart, though the animal did drop and was retrieved.

Jon was excpressing his disappointment over the bullet failure to the Hornady founder and Joyce's retort was this oft-repeated quote.

I believe this was in the pre-Interlock days.
