5" Taurus Raging Bull Holster?!?
I need some help. I am trying to find a holster for my new 5" Taurus Raging Bull(.454 Casull). I tend to prefer thumb break designs and would love to find black leather. I have emailed Bianchi, Galco, and Uncle Mike's, trying to find ANY "properly fitted" holster for this handgun to no avail. I do NOT want a holster that "will fit" the 6.5" version. I am trying to locate a 5" SPECIFIC model!!! Can anyone give me any hot leads?!?!? Thanks for any input you may have(I have "search engine'd" myself to sleep looking)! [Confused]

mindcrime,

First welcome to this forum.

Have you tried this one? The Mil-Tech bandolier holsters from Cabela's.

I'm surprised that you haven't received any reply from Uncle's Mike because this firm made Cordura hip holster for all barrel lenght and for all big bore revolvers.

BER007, THANKS for the welcome. Uncle Mikes did email me back as well as the others I mentioned. U.M.'s said that I should use their holster for the 6.5" Bull(even after I told them I wanted a 5" specific holster). I purchased the 5" as a side arm for a western Colorado(wildfires...yikes!) Elk hunt I'm going on in October(I thought it'd be more portable that the 6.5" version). If I'd known that I could have only found 6.5" version holsters, it might have been better to have a longer tube for more burn!?! I haven't checked out the Cabella's Mil-Tech yet(I will after I get off the computer). Thanks for the speedy response!!! Any other ideas, anyone?

One option would be to get one for the 6.5 model, open it up, shorten it by 1.5 inches and sew it back together. If you are not comfortable doing that (as I would not be), some one versed in leather work should be able to help you. All of the blocking work would still be done so you should be able to simply shorten it. Outside of that, you may be looking at a custom job. Holster for the Taurus Trackers are even more difficult to come by.

Check the Magnum Research websight. They make the BFR revolvers and as far as I know are the only ones who make a hip holster for such a large revolver...........J

Well, gentlemen, I looked at the Mil-Tech holsters. They wouldn't work very well, as they are designed for scoped handguns. The 5" Raging Bull will NOT work with Taurus' scope mount like the longer barrelled models will(I prefer irons on handguns---well except my XP-100 and it's a hand rifle). Magnum Research's holsters are long enough to fit a 6.5" model, like all the others, and are longer than I want. Looks like you're right in your thinking, twillis. I guess I should purchase a leather 6.5" model and shorten it. I did see a custom holster manufacturer in my endless search that specifies holsters molded to the R.B.'s contours, maybe he can help set me up. Now where did I see that!?! [Roll Eyes] Thanks for any help and input so far. [Cool]

MC, let me know what you find too. I'm using a whacked off 6 incher for now. The molded one sounds nice.

Blade-Tech has a holster that is made specificly for the Raging Bull. Don't order online though. There are a lot of options and you should order on the phone so that you get the holster just the way you want it. Make sure you specify 5.5" barrel.

I have several of their holsters and have been very happy with them.
