To all of you Freedom Arms revolver owners:

I am interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences with this companies gun; Accuracy, reliability, factory support, ease of ordering, scope mounting system, etc., etc............?

If you have used an Aim Point ML2 scope, how did it perform and hold up?

I have 2 FA one in .454 on in .50 AE. I can tell you that these guns reach the perfection. Accuracy is superb, fitting is superb, everything is great.

For me these guns worth every penny invested.

I agree with BER007-.I have a FA 475 Linebaugh-7-1/2" built to perfection,very accurate,worth the money even though they are expensive.

I have been completely satisfied with my 7.5" FA in 454. It went back to the factory once for porting and trigger work...service was good.

I use iron sights so won't comment on the optics.

I would buy a used one if looking for another. Still worth the money new, IMHO. dvnv

I am completely satisfied with not only the quality of their product, but the customer service I have received from Freedom Arms. They have gone so far as to completely refinsh (for free) both the revolver and grip panel from a fall I took while on a hunt. Their first question was, "Are you okay?". After assuring them the revolver took the worse lick, I was told to ship it back. I have a Leupold mount on one of them and it was easy on and I have had no problems with the Bushnell 2-6X scope on it.

I have one in 454. No problems so far and I have shot it over 3000 times. They really are the world's finest revolvers.

I bought a used M83 a few months ago; 6" ported barrel,micarta's and both a .45 colt and .454 mag cylinders. I am very happy with it and plan to buy a M97 in .44 spcl ASAP.
I view the FA's as Customs so the steep price tag is easy to rationalize. I have spent lots of money on custom work on pistols,especially on 1911's and NOT had the quality/satisfaction one gets from the FA's right out of
the box.
Also concur that the FA's are THE finest revolvers made.

Have a M97 45 colt/45 ACP

Accuracy: Far better than my ability to shoot it

Reliability: These things are _tight_ and need to be kept clean. 20 or 30 light ACP loads with unique (old) and I'm finding some slight difficulties chambering new rounds.

Ease of Ordering: I live way out in the sticks. I put a local dealer onto ordering one for me but he didn't seem to be able to make it happen (don't know if this was sloth on his part or difficulty on the freedom arms end of the transaction). I ended up ordering one through one of the stocking dealers listed on the freedom arms website and driving a long way to pick it up.


Overall very happy with the purchase. The M97 is significantly smaller than the Ruger NMBH. It also has a shorter cylinder making it diffult to use with longer/heavier bullets. I've found it to be a great medium duty 45 colt/45 acp revolver. I plan to use it for eastern whitetail. If I was planning to shoot at anything with teeth and an inclination to bite back, I'd go with the M83 instead.
