The savage 22LR striker questions
I'm thinking about getting a 22LR savage stiker but I really haven't heard much about accracy and other points like that. Can some one tell me more about this gun and how well it shoot?

I've got one in 22mag. Very accurate. Trigger gets some getting used to: some take up and a bit of creep. Minmal adjustments and no aftermarket replacement I can find. Topped with 4X handgun Leupold, it rings a 4" spinner continuously at 100 yrds. Left hand bolt works well for me even thoughI'm not a southpaw. Only drawback is 5 shot mag in mine. I believe 22 holds more.

Try here for an aftermarket trigger:

Savage Striker Rimfire Replacement Sear

I have one of these on a Savage Mark II Rifle, and it improves the trigger pull greatly. Mine is set at about 10 oz.

Rifle Basix makes a drop in trigger unit I believe. I runs something like $79. I saw it in the last IHMSA newspaper and don't remember off the top of my head their contact information. Email me and I can get you the information once I find my paper.

I have worked with a couple different Savage Sport Strikers in .22 LR. Both were plenty accurate enough, but seemed to be exceptionally finicky about what ammo they liked and disliked.

I tuned the factory trigger myself. One the one I was able to get it SUPER CRISP, and down to under 2 pounds, while the other one was quite crisp, and was able to get it to 2 pounds.

I have just recently sent Savage a letter asking if they would rebarrel my Striker with a Heavy 15" .22 LR Barrel for me. I have not had a responce yet though.
