No but the sight looks pretty interesting, have you tried the shallow V and rifle type front sight that is a ruger option?

shallow v. i may be going back to the original iron sights on my srh still trying to get the best for me

Mr.Pepper, I just got back from the range with my Ruger 5-shot 45 Colt Bisley. I installed a Oneraggedhole sight on it last night and finally had a chance to try it out. I can honestly say that I like this rear sight. There are a few things I want to point out though. For me the peep sight gave me about the same accuracy as a standard rear target sight used in conjunction with a partridge front sight, but better accuracy than the rear V-notch sight that I just took off it.

I wanted to try this sight to see if it would be a good compromise between the accuracy of a target rear sight and the speed of the v-notch rear sight (aka: express sight). Using the Bisley's preferred load of a Hunter's Supply 275 grain FP at 1400 fps initial testing is showing that it is a good compromise. Now, on this Bisley I had Dave Clements send me a converted original front sight that had a gold bead installed into it. The bead is larger than the bead Ruger sells as an accessory for the Redhawk/SRHK and makes for fast acqusition. Even with the front bead larger than Rugers I decided to go with the smaller aperature rear. For me that was a good choice. Off the bench 50 yard groups on a standard B16 target were in the 2 1/2" - 3" range. 25 yard targets were between 1 - 1 1/2" range benched. These groups reflect what I had experienced with the original target sights, but tighter than normally experienced with the express rear sight. Now the fun part. Typically when I shoot a rapid 5 shots at 25 yards standing unrested with the express sights my groups run anywhere from a lucky 2" out to 5" group. Not as consistent as I would like but certainly minute of bear if necessary. With the ORH peep I could shoot about as fast but with much more consistency and accuracy has yet to exceed 3". Moreover, I can acquire the target as fast as I would with express sights. The beauty is I can forget the peep as I just natural center the bead. For me it worked the same as my peep sighted rifles.

There is a trade off. Because it is a peep sight with a ring and by the very nature it is on a handgun held at arms length it does obscure a lot of the target when the target is placed passed 50 yards. But, for me this gun was meant for a close in gun and not meant to really be shot passed 50 yards, perferable closer and that is certainly different than one expects on a rifle where long range accuracy is better than standard open sights. I just covered up to much at longer ranges. Hopefully I will have more to report when Deer season starts and hopefully this will help you out...RW

Ravenwolf, thanks for the additional insight. I have been going back and forth on my .480 SRH as to scope not scoped . and then if not scoped what sights? I never used to use a scope on handguns and shot siloutte pistol for years with iron sights, then came bifoclas and alot has changed. Last year I took my fist deer with scoped handgun ( 2x on a .41 mag) and liked the combination but a scoped handgun is a delibrate affair and iron sights can be fast when necessary.

I have the one ragged hole sight on my sbh 44 and I really like it. The same situation forced me to change my sight picture. These old eyes are too far gone for factory sights and I did not want a scope. For now, I am perfectly happy with the peep sights. I did, however, paint the front sight with mirrobright, blue, fingernail polish. Hope this has helped.
