gsh284win.357 Cast Bullets
I'm looking for a good source for Cast bullets in the .357 caliber...150 grain to 160 grain.....I'm also interested in your opinions on gas check vs. plain base....Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated...George

Lee MartinGeorge,
Hunter's Supply has a nice assortment of cast bullets.....they're website is
www.hunters-supply.com. I've also used Penn Bullets over the years and they've shot well (
www.pennbullets.com).

Lee MartinGeorge,
I forgot to answer your second question. If you're shooting these in .38 Special/.357 Magnum handguns, there's no need for gas checks. Both brands can be driven to 1,600 fps without leading.

Swede44magI bought a 10 cavity Bevel Base from H&G years ago. It is a bit on the heavy side and very expensive but it will make one heck of a lot of bullets in a short time. I believe that Magma Engineering is now making the H&G style molds I dont know if they make the 10 cavity or not. If you shoot a lot it is the way to go. You might check out the Lee 6 cavity it is almost as fast and a lot cheaper. I use straight wheel weights and I love the Bevel Base for ease of loading.
