Fiftydriver475/480,
I use 23.0 gr H-110 under the Speer 300gr Uni-Core Sp and get right at 1200 fps out of my 4 5/8" Ruger BH. Took a 275 pound Russian bore with it at 30 yards breaking both shoulders and exiting. I would start at 21.0gr and load up from there with your CP bullets.
I would bet that 24.0gr would be a good load under that hard cast bullet but work up slow. I have some of the Beartooth 355gr WFNGC bullets loaded up for my Colt with 20.0 gr H-110 uncer them. They produce 1180 fps and are very accurate. Use them for bear protection here in the Montana back country and am happy to say I have not used them yet on a bear, know full well they would punch from neck to nut though.
I am ordering some of the 360 gr Hard Cast from CP and see if they shoot as well. I think the 325 to 330 gr bullets are the best bullets in the Colt for every day hunting but I prefer the heavies for saving my rear if I need it.
Good hunting!!!
