I will be using a 14" 444 Marlin.
I would like to hunt browns and grizzly
A guide would be nice,but will probably depend on funds.

I wouldn't try it without someone around who has a serious stopping rifle.

The .444 with a super-premium bullet would be adequate on an unaware bear, but things can get ugly fast.

While you're trying to reload, the bear can cover a LOT of ground.
