How accurate are the Spanish/Italian replica Colt 1873's? I really like an Uberti steel frame .45 colt 7.5 in bbl at my local shop. What can I expect from it using factory ammo, or some reasonable lead swc handloads?
I understand about the hammer firing pin, and I know it's not built like a Ruger, just wondering if there is a moderate 'Keith' style load to make a useful field gun.

This past year I purchased a Cimarron Thunderer with the 3" barrel and bird's head grip. Mine came in 45 Colt with a 45 ACP cylinder. I am very pleased with the revolver. I adjust the sights for my loads and it functions and shoots very well. I believe they are amde for Cimarron by Uberti.

I use mine as a carry gun in the woods, and for that purpose I shoot:
250 gr Hornady XTP
17.5 gr VVN110
WLP primer

Other than that I shoot most all my other 45 Colt and 45 ACP loads, except for the really stout stuff.

Holster for that piece is a Mernickle.
