MOA TACTICAL500 and 475 Special
I have googled but not got the type of websites I was thinking of. Amazing what you can get for $470 to $500.
Anyway, what do you guys think or know about the concept of doing a 500 Special or 475 special?

ShackIt'd have to be a very close range deal. Farther out it would have a trajectory like a basketball.

Woodrow SMay as well get a 480 Ruger and be done with it if you want a .475 caliber. If you want a 50 caliber look at Gary Reeders 510GNR. Both good bets.

rbrbrb6Hamilton Bowen does a 50 Special and like mentioned the Ruger 480 is a "Hot" 475 special. Kind of like a big bore version of Elmer Keith's original 44 Special loading at 1200 fps with the 250 grain bullet. "Special" is right!

MOA TACTICALBasketball, are you saying it would "bounce" off of bears?

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep looking into it.
There really is far too much variety in all these big bores. I guess it is a good thing, I guess ?

MS HitmanWith the ability to load from mild to wild in the 475 & 500 Linebaughs, I've never seen much use for the Special versions of these rounds.

That's the way I look at it too.
