by looking at the lettering on the barrel im going to have to guess that it isnt a factory gun but a gun someone had custom made. Nice piece though!!

Ok, tell you what I will do, they pretty much all look alike I will send you a photo of one of mine. Since they all pretty much the same I reckon it won't make much difference.

Idaho SharpshooterI'm here. Been busy wolf hunting, and took a week in St Louis with my wife to see the Cardinals whomp the cubs two out of three.
I will get pics posted. IIRC, Colt made six four inch before opting not to put them in production.

Don't worry yourself with pics, they indeed all do look alike! I forget which idiot book said so, but one of the books a few years ago was saying that there was between 6 and 11 of these 4 inch 45 Colt Anacondas made. Well I kept running across a few of them from time to time and would pick them up, UNTIL---
I ENDED UP WITH 12 of the damn things!!!!!!!
NO CRAP BUCKWHEAT-----TWELVE! Of course that threw the book out all to hell!
Now there are not many of them for sure, but there is more than 6 and more than 11, that I am 100% sure of. I know for a fact where 2 more are local--so that is 14---there were 3 on gunbroker last week, two sold, one still online, that makes 17 and with the one you have that makes 18 of them that I know for a fact is out there.
How many? Who knows, not sure anyone knows exactly. I pondered about trying to find out from Colt, but to be honest I just as soon not know and rather speculate, since I have 12! I would rather speculate at least they made probably 25 of them but I don't think they made anymore than 50 total! TOTAL SPECULATION on my part, no science, no true knowledge thereof!
Damn, I thought this was going to be more funny, now I am depressed as I know you have to be too!

michael458Yeah Yeah Yeah! Well at least you guys are getting something out of this--All are most welcome and I really am glad I can help you out.
Now I probably should not mention the fact that I have over 35 1911 type 45 acps I suppose? But they are not all Colts, a few are Kimbers, even have one Springfield Armory gun, but every damn one of them are 45 ACP!
Also I won't say anything about 100 Winchester M70s---but they all are not the same cartridge?
OK, I think Rich is really pissed with me, not even replying back on this matter! I don't blame him either, I'd be pissed too! Hell I am pissed!
