Am I admiring the water heater or the Ruger?

Nice shooting, jwp! That is one-hell-of-a load you;re using there! One of my alltime favorites! It knocks the snot out of game.

Out of breath, near dark seems to be the extra spice in this process for me in spot and stalk or run and ambush as I like to call it.

YEAH, BUT HOW FAR DID THAT HOT WATER HEATER GO BEFORE IT EXPIRED? HOW GOOD WAS THE WATER TRAIL?

A TV. But Barbra Walters went right on Talking, though the picture of her was well and truly Gone! Kind of spooky really; as it appears that one can't really get rid of Idiot TV Talking heads even with a well placed shot.
Full Penetration too and all this with an "unloaded" gun. Many, many years ago and much wiser now...

Bubba shot the jukebox last night with a 45 and stopped it with one shot. That counts don't it?

I did shoot a disabled oven. It was a mercy kills disguised as penetration test of 240 grain cast SWC, 4 inch S&W 629, 22 grain 2400. Heavy into Elmer mania back then, 1979? Oven filled with aluminum cans in bags for recycling. Surprise Coors cans could stop my "heavy" load. Never heard of 454 Casull or other big bores line 500 Linebaugh at that time.
I have a short quote about handgun hunting range, from John Linebaugh's Gun Notes, A Common Sense Look at Handgun Hunting:
The 40 yard shot would be in heavy timber, late evening and chancy, while the 200 yard shot was in open plains and no cover for hundreds of yards or maybe a mile or two. Let conditions and your known limitations be the judge.

Nice dead water heater. Only one question, how in hell do you field dress it?, lol!
