The Champagne's in Duson is alive and well. Not sure about a Comeaux's there. Where was it? How long ago were you there?

Had to send my 629 back to S&W to get some repairs done. Hopefully it'll be back in my hands in time. Got some loads ready too. Hunt still on?

As far as I'm concerned it is. We should start the serious planning after the new year.

I'll have an English Setter puppy to pick up in N Alabama sometime in March. Wouldn't mind making that all in the same trip FWIW. We can hunt with a shotgun, Right? Cool

I'm still in.

Daniel,

You bringing the wife's 44 also?

We need to get together and go shoot. There's still got plenty time, but I'm getting nervous about when I'm gonna get my 629 back from S&W.

Griz, you can use her 629. No problem. I'm more nervous about the way I shot last time we went, and I still don't have a new load worked up for the .41 mag. Way it goes....

Any more thoughts on the time and place of this fiasco hunt? lol

I may well be one of those interested, but not able. A seventeen hr. drive means a four-five day weekend for me, which also falls during my absolute busiest time of year. Odds of me being able to take off that much time early spring are slim to none. I'm not bowing out just yet, but most likely won't be able to go. Sorry. I feel like an ass since I'm the one who revived this thing. I hope others can and do go, and maybe I'll make it yet. I did just get my hardcast bullets in and am still going to work up a load, in case.

Working. As much as 20%-25% of my total years income comes from March/April. After two bad years in a row, I need a good spring this year. The distance/time of travel is really my biggest issue. The gods may smile on me and it all work out, but I can generally tell you that being gone that long at that time of year would be irresponsible of me. On the other hand, it could be raining for four days strait and I can break loose, but I wouldn't know that until right before. If the outfitter will work it that way, great, but if I can be working, I need to be.

I was originally hoping the hunt would be in the FL panhandle again (and during late winter rather than spring), which is only about six hours for me, and I'd only miss Fri, Sat, and Sun. Even that is a large indulgence for me during Spring. I'm usually daylight-dark seven days a week during Spring. Curse of being self-employed and a landscaper. Sorry again.
