This topic doesn't fit the handgun hunting forum very well but don't know where else to stick this question. And I figure pistol lovers are pistol lovers.

Anyhow, does anyone give me any feedback on the Walther TPH pistol as to accuracy and mostly reliability.

Am thinking about getting one as a second concealed carry gun. Yes, I know you can't qualify with .22 but you can carry one. Size is major concern in the Texas heat, so the smaller the pistol during summer months the better.

What do you mean OT ? You could certainly hunt mice and chipmunks with it LOL.

Jim, I have a TPH. It's very accurate, but has lost its double action capability over the years. Also, it's not as small as some other pistols in the genre.

For concealability the Kel-Tec .32's and .380's are better, though not as nicely finished. They do have good warranties, however, and the prices are good. They deserve a hard look.

Thanks POW. I bet if you got your pistol to Walther they would fix it. Has your firing pin spring gotten weak or is something broken in the linkage?

I had a TPH clone and it was a wonderful little pistol. Unfortunately I had a moment of stupidity and sold it. I have also had a Walther PP in 32 and it was a POS!! I shot a friends Stainless PPK in 380 and it was a POS also. I traded my POS PP 32 for a Belgian Browning pre WWII Auto 5 16ga and never looked back. If a TPH Walther is of the same quality as the two that I have shot, then I would look elsewhere, maybe at the Baretta or Taurus pocket pistols. I have an East German made Makarov and it is a superb pistol. I would take it over a POS Walther any day.

I agree with "pow". I have several small pocket pistols. The Beretta Minx I have in 22 short is a great little gun, but not very powerfull. I used to carry it for years as a backup. Now I carry the Kel-tec. For the money I think it is the best buy out there. Much more accurate than I thought it would be. Angle-of-can at 20 meters. Super light weight, barely know you have it in your pocket and slim. Only wished I had waited for the .380 model. Oh well just another reason to buy another gun.

I had one and sold it. It was a U.S. made pistol and it would never function reliably. I tried about every type of ammo I could find. Accuracy was ok. Lately I have been messing with some old .25 autos (Colt and Dreyse) and am very impressed with how well they work. I actually load for the things and you can really improve upon factory performance in a good gun. The accuracy is quite surprising. I also had a Walther U.S. PPK and it was a pos!
