Dago RedBuffalo Bore in 4 5/8 blackhawk
Anybody use the buffalo +P stuff in a 4 5/8 blackhawk? I am going to order a holster (in time for this weekend maybe

) and was thinking of getting some of this ammo. The gun is just a backup for while I am walking around up there hunting.
Thanks guys.

RMillerI had a 4 5/8" 41 mag blackhawk.
My favorite load was 19 grains of H110 with a 293 grain hardcast gaschecked at 1275 fps.
Probably similiar to a buffalo load.

scr83jpOne of my friends bought a 4 5/8 inch 45LC Ruger Blackhawk and 300gr Speer jacketed soft point Buffalo Bore ammo (1300fps) used it on a wounded cow elk in Idaho, shot it thru the head at 65 yards, it went down.I also have 4 5/8 inch 45lc & 41mag Rugers with Hogue Grips for comfortable firing.Another source for ammo is

Heritage ArmsI use the 347 LBT in the .45 LC loaded by Buffalo Bore. It is very accurate on paper, I have not had the chance to shoot anything with it

billinthewildMy blackhawk is a 45 Colt re done by Bowen.
5.5 inch barrel. I use Buffalo Bore's 300 grain load and have also used the 325. The 325 is one you really need to hang on to.....
Taking the revolver and the ammo to Argentina tomorrow.....

Likewise my Bisley Blackhawk 7-1/2 has my complete attention every time I drop the hammer on handloaded 325 and 335 LBTs @ ~1200 fps...I imagine the Buffalo Bore loads will be quite snappy in the lighter, less comfortably shaped Blackhawk.

Woodrow SYep, uncomfortable all right, and don't expect great accuracy either. They are loaded as hot as possible without blowing things up and loads that hot are almost never very accurate. But, I guess for a back up gun SHORT range is the key word and how accurate it is may not be that important.
