Lever Evo Revolver bullets
I spoke with the Hornady rep at Camp Perry this last weekend, and he told me that they are currently in development of polymer tipped revolver bullets. He said that they are pushing .44 mags at over 1800 fps. He said that they should be on the market in '08 if all goes well. I was telling him that I use XTP's in handgun sillouette shooting and he was saying that these bullets would be great for the rams at 200m.

I'd be first in line to buy some for my Casull. I tried loading some spitzer-style pistol bullets intended for the .460 SW but had
OAL issues and abandoned the endevor.

Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

I'm sure what he's talking about is the new polymer tipped rounds like they're loading in the factory .460 S&W ammo. I'd like to get my hands on the 300 grainers for the 500 S&W but they don't sell them in component form yet (if ever). Frowner

For it to fit in a typical 44 Mag it will have to be a very lightweight bullet, like 180 grs or less, of which I have no interest.

I know what you are talking about in the 460/500 bullet but he was talking .44 cal and .357. He said they just began testing them 2 weeks ago. He said the at least the .44's should be on the shelf in '08.

He was telling us that demand for loaded ammo in the 460/500 platform has been so high that they dont have enough bullets to sell in component form.
