Single*ShotEncore .308 load data
I have a scoped 14" Encore barrel in .308. When I first bought the barrel,(used), it was shooting all over the place. I removed the scope, cleaned under the rings and the scope is no longer moving. The problem is that my accuracy still is suffering. I have been sticking to 150gr factory loads, but I am now ready to reload. Does anyone have a pet load that I should start with. The primary target for this will be whitetail.
Thanks,
same trigger, same feel, same reslts!

Bill MI don't have the loads in front of me, but I have had good luck with Hodgdon Varget and IMR 4895 using Nosler 165 Ballistic Tips in my 308 Win rifles. The same starting/maximum loads listed for rifles applies. I don't have a 308 barrel for my Encore (yet....)
Good luck!, Bill

Grey EagleSO far I have found H/BLC2 in Winchester cases and CCI primers and 165 Nosler B/T's to give me the best accuracy. I am getting slightly over 2500 with the standard factory 15" bbl. BTW Hodgdons website has data just for the 15" 308 barrell.
