Ackley Improved User300 gr. 454 and 180 gr. 357 mag - what's your best loads?
What are your best hunting loads for the 300 gr. in 454 Casull and 180 gr. in the 357 mag.?
I'm thinking 32.5 grs. W296 with 300 gr. XTP or Nosler in 454 Casull, and 15 grs. W296 with 180 gr. XTP or Nosler in 357 mag. Any thoughts?

A good load I used to shoot in my S & W model
27 with a 6" bbl Always shot good but the trajectory was some what poor. But here it is.
180 grain Hornady xtp h.p.
11.5 grains of H-2400
CCI#550 primer
velocity is around 1000 fps in my pistol
and I dont know if they still make a h.p. inthe xtp in .357 dia anymore as the regular xtp
bullets expanded plenty anyhow.
What pistol are you going to shoot it in?
I can speak on the Casull Load. Your at the MAX, which is very tough on case life. Watch for splitting cases before reloading them again. I used this load in .454 SS Puma 1892.
