Colt revolver in 44 mag
Hi all. Can anyone enlighten me as to the difference if any between Colt revolvers called Kodiak, Grizzly, and Anaconda? I have seen pictures of all in stainless or nickel in 44 mag but wonder what the difference is. I almost bought a Kodiak 20+ years ago but for some reason settled on the Smith. Now I am interested in the Colt. Thanks in advance for your help. Paul
I'm no Colt expert but I believe the Kodiak was an all stainless version of the Anaconda with an unfluted cylinder and factory magnaporting. I think the Grizzly had essentially the same modifications but on a Python. The Anaconda was the standard Colt double action offering in 44 magnum.
I wish I had bought one when I had the chance 20 years ago. A buddy of mine with a gun shop had a camo Anaconda he could hardly give away. He would have sold it to me for cost but I was too poor back then. Those things are worth a fortune today.
Thanks Mark. That helps. I too am kicking myself for not buying back in the day.

Woodrow SI have one of the Anaconda Realtree revolvers w/ the matching camo redfield scope..paid $700 for it. Darn thing will outshoot most good rifles at 100 yards...very accurate set-up. My son usually uses it when we go on hunting trips. Also had one in the 4" SS version...also very nice. Traded it along with several Pythons for a SMG 2 years ago.
