Well I finaly have one for you guys. I was calling some coons out back by the creek last night and had a li'll come in, shot to the head down it goes. Hear a big sound come'n out of the brush and theres one of the biggest coons I have ever seen in the south. I didnt reload the TC from the first shot and this bugger is comeing right for me growling ( remember I'm in a wheelchair and cant turn and run! ) I yell at it and it stop'd long enough for me to load one and take the shot, no head shot on this one, and it rolles back and the dang thing gets up and runs off. A 44 mag full wadcutter to the chest !!! But I hear it go down in the brush a roll'n and a kick'n. I finaly get it and man what a coon, sold them both down the street for $50 !!!

I've had them come in aggressively. It certainly can raise one's adrenalin. Congrats on having the composure to reload and make the shot.

But I have to ask: Where in the world did you get $50 for 2 green 'coons? I'm a trapper, and the prices on the pelts are horrible. Also, why the .44 when you're assured of a pretty decent entrance and exit with the SWC?

We have a some people here in the south GA that like to eat coon, and they'll pay for good fresh ones. The 44 is all I have and I only do head shots but that big one made me want to hurry up so I just shot the bugger !!!
