I was wondering if anyone has tried the 275gr Barnes X pistol bullet in this cartridge/pistol configuration? The tech from Barnes said that it wouldn't work in the Desert Eagle, but the Barnes manual doesn't say anything about it being restricted in this gun. Any help is appreciated.

Won't work. The bullets too long to seat in the case properly and maintain the proper overall length. Might work in a .50AE revolver, though. Not sure on that one.

Speer's got a 300gr TMJ now...have you tried it? I can't find it anywhere. Now THAT should punch a nice hole in just about anything!! Especially with the max loads published by Speer - just a tad under 1600FPS. Basically .454 Casull level!!
