fourboreConversion Ruger single six 32H&R to 327 Mag
I asked this question over on the gun smith forum, but maybe this is a better place:
http://forums.accuratereloadin...9411043/m/2131095421I have a question into Ruger service dept also.
Now we have a more potent 32Fed, I'd like to upgrade by Ruger single six. Or just get another one, shorter bbl and stainless for variety. I see Ruger offers the big blackhawk in an 8 shot - too heavy. I will stick with a 44 in that heavy a gun.
Will it fit in the 32H&R RugerSS cylinders? Would it be safe? Can I buy a reamer?

MS HitmanI doubt Ruger will do anything other than advise you against this conversion. You need to be talking to John Linebaugh, Hamilton Bowen or Dave Clements. Chances are one these guys has either done the conversion already or has determined what it would take to do it.

fourboreI expect Ruger to get upset. Hopefully, atleast they hear me asking for the single six in 32.
I am worried it is too long for the 32H&R cylinder.

dogtrainerEach cylinder chamber of the existing cylinder could be reamed out to 327 Ruger lenght. Jack Huntington in California could do it.

BoxheadI think I answered the same question elseware. You will need a longer cylinder for the 327 Single Six conversion. I suggest talking with Alan Harton in Houston on the project. He can also quite easily convert a rimfire Single Six to the 327 Federal. He converted one to a 41 Special for me.

This is not a service we offer and do not recommend altering any of our firearms from the original configuration or caliber. We have no plans at this time to offer a Single Six in .327, but will forward your request to our Marketing Department. Thank you for your interest in Ruger firearms.
This is Rugers response to my request. Not very informative, but at least they will pass it on to marketing dept. FWIW
Ruger is hard to figure. Sometimes they seem to just nail and then other times, they dont. Like the bearcat in 22LR/22mag with adjustable sights?
