I was looking around a site www.454casull.com from memory(vauge) - Where they talk of their .454's only penetrating 30cm into eland.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a bit on the poor side for this round?

The penetration is greatly dependant on the bullets used. If one uses a 260 gr bullet in the 454 for maximum velocity and flat shooting, then one may be a bit disapointed with the penetration.

If however one uses a heavy hardcast bullet of 350-400 gr, I don't think there will be any complaints about the penetration.
