44 mag ammo question
Has anyone tried fusion ammo? And if so how it compares to Remington? I am looking at the 240 grains choices for deer hunting.

I have not tried the Fusion ammo, nor the factory Remington for that matter; I roll my own. I do know the Remington 240 SJHP bullet works well on deer.

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Thanks MS, I will probably shoot them both along with Buffalo Bore (for moose) but I figured I would check to see if anyone had tried them.

Yeah, that's good ammo. If it's deer you're after, I am sure the Fusion ammo will work well. Try Double Tap out for reasonably priced and really good .44 mag ammo........ www.doubletapammo.com

Will their 320gr hardcast lead bullets lead the bore?

Always used jacketed to avoid leading. Is there anyway to know before shooting them, which lead bullets do not lead the bore? I would like to have a heavy flat nose bullet for the big hogs.

Thanks,

Richard

They won't lead the bore at all. I don't use jacketed bullets at all any more -- or rather rarely. That 320 grain load from Double Tap is excellent and I have taken a number of hogs with it and it is devastating.

I don't get leading either when I use hard cast bullets. I am not a jacketed bullet fan either...

If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

Beartooth Bullets also has a 325 WLNGC in various diameters for the .44mag. The Hard Cast and the GC eliminate any leading and they are accurate as can be. Only problem with them is it takes about 3 - 4 months on average to get your order.
