p dog shooterreplacement grips on a redhawk
Looking to replace the factory grips on my 5.5 in redhawk. What ones would you recommend.

<SlimL>I like the factory ones that I have on it already even though lots of people don't. I have not checked into whether they make them or not for the Redhawk but I like the ones from Hogue, with the finger grip groves on them. I have them on my 4" Mod 29 carry gun and like them a lot. Gives you a good grip when you have to get them on line fast. Slim

yukon deltaI had a set of Uncle Mikes on a Redhawk that were superior to the Pachymars on my S&W's.

Tombo21I put Hogue on my 454 Super Redhawk. Cuz, I kept smashing my finger on something with the factory grips, obviously recoil induced. Since I changed, my fingers aren't scared to shoot anymore.

<SlimL>"...ain't scared to shoot any more." What a very interesting way to put it. I like it! Slim

<manhasset>Tried Pachymar and the old Bear Claw walnut seemed just a bit too big. Always keep going back to the factory std. with a grip adaptor. With the 5.5 bbl. seems to balance ok.
